CULTURE ELEMENTS



There are some experts who put forward the opinion of the components or elements of culture, among others, as follows:

   1.  Melville J. Herskovits mentions culture has four main elements, namely:
       - technology tools
       - economic system
       - family
       - political power

   2. Bronislaw Malinowski said there are four basic elements which include:
       - system of social norms that allow collaboration among community members to adjust to the
          natural surroundings
       - economic organizations
       - tools, and institutions or officers for education (the family is the primary educational
          institution)
       - organizational strength (politics)
    3. Kluckhohn suggests there are seven elements of universal culture (universal categories of
        culture), namely:
       - language
       - knowledge systems
       - technology systems and equipment
       - art system
       - livelihood system life
       - religious system
       - kinship systems, and community organizations
